Plastering of interior ceiling using gypsum mix MP-75

The plastering works are carried out using with the new German PFT-G5 equipment. The team of workers consists of 3-4 highly qualified persons. One team can plaster 20-40 sq. m in one day.

Installation of suspended plasterboard ceiling is far more expensive than applying the Knauf MP75 mix.

Benefits and advantages:

  • A perfectly smooth surface is the result of the properties of Knauf dry plaster mixtures;
  • The ceilings plastered with gypsum mix accumulate heat very well;
  • Our plastering method is significantly faster, more effective and cleaner than the wet lime-cement plastering;
  • The drying time of walls which were not plastered with the Knauf dry gypsum mix is 50% shorter compared to the wet lime-cement method;
  • A single high quality filling of walls is sufficient for painting the plastered walls.

Please note that in order to prepare the walls plastered with the Knauf mix for painting it is enough to apply the filler only once, as compared to 3-4 times using the wet method.

Plastering process

Plastering is done using the German PFT-G5 equipment. Please note that the equipment does not require much room.

Usually during the construction the ceilings are installed using concrete floor slabs of cast monolith. Concrete surfaces are covered using Knauf Betokontakt primer.

Knauf Betokontakt is a primer for sealing non-absorbent surfaces, e. g. for processing concrete prior to covering with gypsum plaster. For indoor use.

Consumption of materials:
Approx. 250-300 ml/m2, depending on absorbance capacity.

After spraying the surfaces with the MP75 Knauf mix, leveling and applying the filler which is produced during leveling, excellent results are achieved.

Useful tips

In winter, the amount of water vapor in the air indoors is greater than outdoors. Due to the difference in pressure, the warmer water vapor tries to move from the inside to the outside. This is called water vapor diffusion, or, in spoken language, “plaster breathing”. Depending on the plaster mix used, the diffusing water vapor meets certain resistance (μ). The greater the water vapor diffusion resistance factor, the slower the water vapor diffusion through the material.

Thermal conductivity is the capacity of the material to transfer heat, i.e. the thermal insulation of the material. This feature is described by the thermal conductivity coefficient λ (expressed in W/mK). The lower the λ value, the better the insulating properties of the material. It must be noted that MP-75 gypsum plaster has excellent thermal conductivity properties (0.35 W/mK). Thus, the smaller the coefficient λ, the smaller the heat loss.
